Crazy winds, crazy week

Not enough of this this week.
Well we introduced to the crazy East winds here in Farmington this week (79 mph at the heighth). And I hate them. Straight at our front door, and through every little crevice it could find. And so cold. We have more winterizing to do.

But other than that, the week was fun. Monday we enjoyed doing some rice crispy decorating for FHE:

Tuesday was Reflections Awards Night. Both Sophie and Cecily won for film. Scott won for Film and Literature. He was so happy. Every time they announced his name as the winner (he was the only one in his category) he looked so surprised and excited and jumped up and down. It delighted the whole audience. It was so fun to watch him. Mar and the boys came afterwards to celebrate with us with cake and ice cream.

Wednesday, Marri and I went to her Beehive Mother/Daughter dinner. It was a lot of fun learning about the other moms and girls.

Cecily wrote us nice notes for her activity days Wednesday.
Thursday, Jetta and I went to Sophie's Colonial play. She looked and did great! I really like that her teacher does these little plays.

Friday we cleaned, packed, laundered, and worked before picking up Steven and heading up north for a weekend of fun. We dropped the kids off at the Jensens where they ran around, played games, and watched shows. Rob and I headed over to Amy's grandma's to surprise her for her birthday. In typical Amy fashion, she waved nonchalantly as she walked in. It made us laugh. It was nice because it was a good group of us from high school and we played hilarious card games for hours, laughing and laughing our brains out like we did back when.

Saturday we spent the day at the Jensens working and playing Dominion. It was nice. The kids played and played and played. And we ended it all with Dr. Who.

Sunday we got up early to get to church to listen to Robin and Eleanor give their farewell addresses and sing. It was lovely. Back to Jensens for a nice lunch and visiting with cousins near and far. At 1 we packed up to head to Dad's, where we surprised him by visiting his SS class. He taught the "Continuing Revelation" lesson in typical Dad amazingness. It is Dad's birthday, so after his lesson, we took the kids (and Steven) home to prepare him a birthday dinner and cake. We celebrated with kids' cards, cowboy shirts, a book, and an air compressor thingamajig (Dad picked it out). The kids loved helping Dad with the chores and Sara called and some of the Korean kids she teaches say "Happy Birthday" to him (see video below), and we left late after a wonderful weekend.
