4th of July

 

But before we get to the 4th of July, we have the end of June and first days of July. Monday had more swimming lessons, that went through Thursday. Scott and Jetta both did a great job overall, learning a lot and feeling more comfortable in the water.

Tuesday was a crazy day. Starting with Scott going to day camp all day, where he had a blast, then with swimming lessons for just Jetta, then Cecily had an activity days water party, then I had scouts here where we did more exercising. Then over to Sue's for a hispanic flavored birthday party for Jared (they played Bigger or Better, we did a TMNT pinata, and had a huge chocolate cake smashed in the face which is a tradition). The kids had a marvelous time. Then we zoomed over to the Ward Neighborhood Swim party for the rest of the evening. So crazy. But fun.

Wednesday Marri had a friend moive party for 7 hours. From the giggling, it sounded quite fun.

Thursday was a day to get ready for the weekend because Friday we got packed up and went camping. It was glorious to be in nature. Not too crazy to camp with all the 4th of July camping people and cool to sleep. Loved it. Mom and Dad came up with Seth and Neena and we visited over the fire for a few hours. We played games and read and it was so lovely.

Now we're to the 4th. We woke up and broke camp and got to Deweyville in time to shower and then to minute 2 (of 17) of the Deweyville parade. I really liked the candy drop, the kids thought it was awesome. Then the three youngest got soaked by the fire dept. We headed back to Mom and Dad's to watch Independence Day. It was fun to show that to my kids. And we laughed and laughed. Then we headed over to Riverside for dinner and a show (that was drowned out by the wind, mostly) but the wind died down enough to allow for some fireworks. We went back to the Warbs for some late night chatting with Ashley before falling asleep. A nice 4th of July overall.

Sunday we visited with the Warbs for the morning before heading to Riverside for church and fast sunday dinner. We then visited and played games and saw an amazing rainbow while the cousins played and played. We ended up taking Joe home with us and leaving our 4 oldest for a few days in Scott's case, and for the three girls, most of the week because they just can't ever get enough of their cousins.
