She also brought home the following paper to prepare to the coming Johnny Lingo-themed Mommy-daughter luau. Oh my no.
After a bit of a long story and me getting up my courage and the Activity Leaders kindly listening to my concerns, Johnny Lingo is no longer on the docket and the following paper was then sent home. Much better!
Then Wednesday we had a little birthday party for Spencer, who looked much better. We ate rice crispy cake and watched Adventure Time. It was a lot of fun.
A nice week, all told.

Well done. I cringe every time I think of Johnny Lingo, for so many reasons.
Trevor, I am a bit chagrined to say that I was mostly thinking of the sexism, both obvious and more latent therein, but another woman brought up the fact that, as a Pacific Islander, she sees it as so very, very racist in it's portrayal. And oh my goodness, I couldn't believe it when I saw it again. So (hopefully) unintentionally racist.
Now to somehow get the courage to talk about Book of Mormon Stories to our Primary President because they sing it (as it is her favorite), with full actions, every.single.week.
