Jennetta's 12th birthday

My baby turns 12 today! Jetta is still able to fit into her "it's my birthday" shirt even though she's shot up like a weed this year. And her keen fashion sense has it paired cutely with her 90s jacket and star leggings. She was delighted by the clothes she received this morning and loved that Marri's dogs walked her to school. Since she got her ears pierced 6 months ago instead of at her 12th birthday, I'm excited to give her the homemade earrings the rest of the family crafted for her last night. Look how fun they turned out! And they are perfectly colorful, crazy, cute and creative, just like Jennetta! She's going to love them... and then want to make some herself.

Then on Thursday: Jetta graciously let me use her last birthday in elementary to throw an "invite the whole grade" ice skating party. She was a bit nervous about the whole thing but the kids were all great and very kind to each other and to Jetta. A lot of them had very little skating experience so it was great to see them cheer each other on, help one another and get better as the night went on. Also we had multiple pairs of older siblings helping younger siblings, which was lovely to watch. They seemed to have a blast and it's always gratifying when your nervous kid thanks you at the end and admits they had a fantastic time.
