For President's Day* we decided to make it a family outing and headed out skiing once again. I was delighted since Sara decided to join us and Rob also got in on the action, strapping on a pair of skies for the first time this season. Unfortunately, his bindings were too loose and he ended up falling way more times then he normally would have, but it was still fun.
Some of the best parts of the day: watching my girls go off of jumps (thanks goodness Dad bought that helmet for Cecily after she ended up falling on her head after her epic jump ^^see video^^) and skiing with Scott first on the little hill, then over to the garden, then up the big hill. By the end, he was doing amazingly. I was really proud of him and he was way disappointed when I said it was time to go. We all loved our traditional ski lunch: homemade cookies, ham and cheese sandwiches, hot chocolate, oranges, supplemented by some lodge cinnamon rolls and hot fries. I also loved videoing with Sara, and getting in a few romantic runs in with Rob. Plus the weather was completely gorgeous.
Most of the best parts (except Rob's epic fall halfway down the mountain (seriously he kept sliding and sliding and sliding)) were captured in Sara's amazing video** at the top (we also listened to that song both on the way and way home, so it was our ski anthem of the day). But here are a few photos to also capture the day.
*I will be celebrating and honoring the presidents with much more gusto in a few days when I will be walking the mall in Washington D.C. in an effort to learn more about the wonderful men and women who made (and still make) this country great.
**Seriously, I told Sara that she could forego getting me anything for my birthday, this video just makes me so happy. It captured so well so much of our crazy/fun ski trips.
