Pre-Halloween Partying

Before we get to the weekend full of partying, we enjoyed Marri's first YW in Excellence. Then Friday, after the kids got home, Rob and I headed on an exercise date, first up the mountain hiking, then biking to station park, then dinner and yogurt, then home. It was amazingly fun!

That night the girls all went to different parties. Marri to a boy-girl party in Centerville, and Sophie and Cecily to a party down the street. So we had a party at our house for Scott and Jetta and Skyler and Abby. They played electronics and ate pizza and Popsicles.

 That night Scott made me a puzzle. It was kind of clever.

Saturday morning at 11 we began the Halloween party that would last about twelve hours. We first headed to Lagoon where we met Mar and the boys. The kids really enjoyed both of the candy walks and going on rides. It was just a beautiful day. Then we headed back to our house, where Savanna and Skyler joined us. We first did the fantastically frustrating fun donut-on-the-string game. Then the kids played and played and played. Then we did a treasure hunt all throughout the park, with the actual treasure back at home. Hah, a little trick there. Then the kids loved making costumes for each other and somehow ended up as post-apocolyptic cats and people and such. Off to the trunk-or-treat where they played games, ate chili and came home with loads of candy that we promptly commandeered for the real Halloween this coming week. The kids then opened the glowsticks and headed back to the park for some spooky night games. Coming back, they made witches brew (with pop and ice cream) and decorated cookies while Rob and I and Mar played Dominion (and I lost both times! but it was still awesome, especially the second game.) The kids ran around on sugar highs until about 10:30 when it was finally time to stop the madness. And everyone headed home and my kids thanked me over and over for such a fun day.

In the middle of all of this, Rob and I snuck on one more date to Lagoon. It was fun to just be a couple. We played arcades, ate dinner (and an amazing cinnamon roll) went on the Terror Ride, got a computer portrait, and rode the train. So fun!

The kids also did a great job at the Primary Program and we were invited to the neighbors to talk and do marshmallows over the fire Sunday evening. It was lovely.
